MEET OUR NEWEST NEIGHBORS IN 2020!

Meet the Sommer/Koenig Family at 4700 Venturi Lane!

At 4700 Venturi Ln, you will find the Sommer/Koenig Family: Steve, Meghan, Henry (14), Matilda (13), Benjamin (12), James (10) and Mazzy (6) as well as a precocious Sheltie named Olive. Meghan’s Aunt and Uncle have lived in Fairway for over 20 years and we’ve always loved the area (Hi Kay & Spencer!). When we saw this house pop up on the market, we jumped at the chance to live in the best neighborhood in Fort Collins and, after doing a little renovating, moved our busy brood into the house in late September. Meghan and I both spent the last decade working at the convergence of book publishing and technology and now own/operate digital-focused businesses across a range of topics.

Thank you to all our wonderful neighbors who have welcomed us to Fairway. We love being here.

Meet Diana Luthi at 4640 Venturi Lane!

Hello Neighbors! My name is Diana Luthi and after almost a year- long renovation I just moved back into my home in early November along with my 2 dogs Kylee and Leo.

I am a Colorado native and had previously lived in Loveland for almost 30 years. I am a Realtor with The Group Inc. and have been for over 25 years now. I have always loved and appreciated the neighborhood of Fairway Estate here in Ft. Collins and it has always been a dream to call this area home. I originally sold the Belknaps this home on Venturi when they decided to move here from our hometown of Sterling, Colorado. In the spring of 2019, they told me they wanted to move closer to their children & I purchased the home as I was ready to downsize from my home in Loveland. I love the large lot, the wildlife, the peaceful setting and all the unique homes throughout the neighborhood. The major reason for my move was similar to the Belknaps; I have three adult daughters who live in Timnath and Severance, it was an opportunity to be closer to all three of them. My oldest Cassie, along with her husband Craig live in Timnath with my only grandchild Gwendolyn, who will be turning 2 this December. My two other daughters Tiffany and Carrie both live in Severance. I am so excited to be in this neighborhood and closer to my family.

Meet the Beard Family at 5001 Hogan Drive!

Hi There!

We are The Beard's, Joe, Tonia, Jay and Maddie. We moved into 5001 Hogan Drive in July and are in love with the neighborhood! We have been in Ft Collins for the past 30 years and had no idea this area was here! We love the older trees, lake, trails and most of all how friendly and kind everyone has been. I am a School Counselor for the Saint Vrain School District in Longmont and Joe is a Mechanical Engineer. Our kids attend Rocky Mountain High School, Jay is a senior and Maddie is a Junior. Joe and I moved to Ft Collins in the early 90's to attend graduate school at CSU and never left. I am originally from Iowa and Joe is from Reno/Sparks, Nevada. We love to garden and spend time exploring the mountains with our kids and dogs. We look forward to getting to know all of our neighbors, please stop by and introduce yourself (while socially distancing of course!).

Meet the Madden Family at 4720 Player Drive!

We are Robb, Amy and Maddy (age 11). We moved into our home in February 2020. We are so excited to be living in Fairway Estates, as we have driven through the neighborhood for years, searching for our forever house. We love to renovate, and have moved often, but we knew we’d stay here if we found something that offered smaller home with lots of outdoor space. Amy grew up in Fort Collins and Robb grew up in Buffalo, Wyoming. Amy is in musical theatre and is a marketer. She recently closed her 10 year old Event Marketing company due to Covid and is currently working for a former client in the Interior Design industry. Robb is super handy and loves the outdoors- he works remotely for an Oil & Gas company based in Texas. Maddy is a new 6th grader at Kinard AND in a new neighborhood during Covid, she is always hoping to meet other kids in her ‘new hood.’ She has 1 cat and 6 chickens, loves her new big back yard, and would love to play outside anytime! 😊 (She gets her social nature from her parents- we are always up for a yard cocktail and new neighborhood friends – can’t wait to get to know all of you!)

Meet the Williams at 125 Fairway Lane!

We are Jeff and Ally Williams with a dog named Birdie. We always knew we wanted to end up in Fairway Estates, so when a home became available we decided to make the move from Denver. It has already been so nice being close to family and friends in Fort Collins and we absolutely love the beautiful open spaces and friendly neighbors of Fairway Estates!

WINE IDEAS FOR MAKING YOUR HOLIDAYS FULL OF MERRIMENT & CHEER

If you find liquor stores and/or wine aisles to be an intimidating and overwhelming experience, you are not alone. We asked our resident wine connoisseur, Elise Simon, to advise us on some of her favorite wine selections to enjoy over the holidays.

Wine is the most subjective thing in the world, but here’s my input for making your holidays a little merrier.

When we want a bigger, heavier, earthier wine to serve with red meat we go for a Chateauneuf-du-Pape. There are lots of good labels, chateau Mont-Redon is one of our two favorites. If you go this route, you’ll definitely want to open it two hours before serving or decant. Expect a fair amount of sediment (aka wine dregs).

Sparkling wine is a must and Saint-Hilaire is my very favorite. My husband refers to Saint-Hilaire as my patron saint. This is easy to find and runs around $15. We used to buy it at Costco for $9.99, but those days are over. Two other sparkling wine…

We used to buy it at Costco for $9.99, but those days are over. Two other sparkling wines I like are Cave de l’Aurance Cremant de Bourgogne and Baron de Seillac. I buy both of these from winebuyer.com in New Jersey. No tax and they often have free shipping specials.

If you want to serve a white wine with your meal, we really like a chilled, white Bourgogne. You can also find very affordable white Bordeaux which goes nicely with food.

Lastly, we’ve been buying inexpensive wines from Portugal. I call them patio wines.

We found the Casa Santos Lima (red) at Costco for ~$8 and it’s really good. I found the Aveleda Loureiro (white) at winebuyer.com – again, no tax and often free shipping. These are both really good and perfect for a party or hanging out on the patio. The bottle of Aveleda Loureiro is empty and my last one. My poor husband had to pull the bottle out of recycling bin for this picture.

With the exception of the Chateauneuf-du-Pape, these are all fairly inexpensive, which makes them even better.
